The legacy lives on. I decided it was a cool idea to take Ike's picture in this spot. This is a granite bench on the rocks at the yacht club that is in memory of his namesake, his Great-Grandfather "Ike" (Harcourt F. Schutz). For those who don't know we didn't just make up the nickname "Ike". The story is his Great-Grandfather was given that nickname when he was a child because he was tall and lanky like Ichabod Crane in Irving's The Legend of the Sleepy Hollow. Anyway, I didn't get a chance to meet "Daddy Ike" but it is common knowledge that he was a great, great man and we were so excited to pass that name onto our son. Obviously, the club has always been a very big part of Harcourt's family and we have had a great time this summer introducing Ike to this special place.
