18 inches of snow in 1 night made for a super fun Sunday before Christmas! Definitely the biggest snowstorm we have seen at our house in 6 years. See more photos here...

Snow Vehicles
We all know the Schutz men enjoy their vehicles but in their defense they actually use them! Bing got a mayday call from Peter Fitton who was snowed into his house and before you could blink an eye they were suiting up, opening the doors to the barn and off they went. It turned into quite an event which eventually led to sledding by tow behind the Polaris, snow boarding behind the Polaris, lots of snowballs and lots of fun. Dana & Tom are in town and they met up with us for some of the crazy Schutz family fun. Ike cried when we had to leave and kept saying 'one more time Mommy'. Hopefully more snow days this winter to come!

All we can say is "why didn't we do this long ago?" We have lived in our 160 yr old house for 6 1/2 years and finally bit the bullet and had our floors downstairs refinished. They look amazing! We had no idea the old floor were coated in dark stain so when the sanders got to the the old beauty shined through. We are so pleased and we feel like we have a new, much brighter house! Next, the upstairs...

Santa Elf

Ike received a really cute book/doll called 'Elf on the Shelf' from Jimmie for his birthday. The story says the Elf is from Santa and he is watching over Ike and reporting nightly to Santa on his behavior of the day. Part of the deal is you have to name your Elf and Harcourt wanted to call him Hanz but Ike preferred 'Santa Elf' so the 3 yr old wins! This will be a great tradition for us for many, many years to come!!

Our Evergreen
I love early December and the start of the Christmas season! Even though we were going to be moving out of our house for the week to have our floors refinished we went ahead and got the tree last weekend. We went on our hunt for the Christmas tree at the same little farm down the street from our house. Ike is learning all about evergreens at school so he was very excited to go to the evergreen farm. Photo to come of the fully decorated evergreen!
After the decision was made about the tree and Harcourt got sawing -

Seadog Worlds
Last weekend Sachems Head Frostbiters hosted the 'Seadog Worlds' - there was much anticipation as the competition from Rhode Island arrived in a rented truck full of Seadogs. It was a blustery December day and only for those who truly love to sail. Cutter was 2nd, Harcourt was 10th with Whitney not far behind.

We hosted the Seadog "worlds" regatta last weekend. I ended up 10th, not as well as I had hoped but a great way to end the sailing season. More pics to follow.

Happy Birthday Ike!
He was very excited about his birthday and he was practicing singing to himself for days. It was really fun to have him anticipate and understand his birthday - certainly a big change from last year. He knows he is 3 or 'free' and we look forward to what new funny things he is going to wake up and say each day to make us smile. He is into fire trucks, puzzles and airports/airplanes and he is in heaven playing with all his new things. We can't wait to see what Ike's 4th year of life has in store! All pics here.
Harcourt took Ike out for an errand (Budweiser of course) while we decorated the house for the party and while the guests (aka Kyle, Bing & Robert) arrived. We missed Jimmie & Pepe this year but can't wait for our visit in January.
