Harcourt got a new toy sailboat this summer called a Moth. It is a morph between a dinghy sailboat and a windsurfer. He has sailed it a few times and Ike has of course being begging for a ride and he did finally get his chance! We will work on getting better photos of it actually “flying” with its blades that allow it to ride above the surface of the water. Ike is so fascinated that he wants to name his new* opti, Mini Moth.

18 inches of snow in 1 night made for a super fun Sunday before Christmas! Definitely the biggest snowstorm we have seen at our house in 6 years. See more photos here...

Snow Vehicles

We all know the Schutz men enjoy their vehicles but in their defense they actually use them! Bing got a mayday call from Peter Fitton who was snowed into his house and before you could blink an eye they were suiting up, opening the doors to the barn and off they went. It turned into quite an event which eventually led to sledding by tow behind the Polaris, snow boarding behind the Polaris, lots of snowballs and lots of fun. Dana & Tom are in town and they met up with us for some of the crazy Schutz family fun. Ike cried when we had to leave and kept saying 'one more time Mommy'. Hopefully more snow days this winter to come!

A Day with the Dunnes

Sunday was a beautiful day and we decided to rally for a last minute picnic on the boat with the Lais, the Dunnes from Princeton (Julie's cousin) and the Fitton Family. Finn Dunne experienced his first time in a life jacket and seemed to enjoy boating so much that he didn't want to nap and miss anything... though he did finally konk out on the way back in. Finn & Archibald were hanging out while Ike & Hayden were up to their usual boating antics. There was some time for the boys in the new "air chair"- some sort of insane piece of water sports equipment that you can foil above the water! click for more photos

Ike had his first legitimate fishing experience on Monday night. We took the Whaler out for a nice evening boat ride since the weather was so nice. Ike wanted to bring his new Spiderman fishing pole from Walmart (thanks to Henry for the idea) and Harcourt brought his along as well. Low and behold we actually came upon some blues and Harcourt nailed one with his popper. Ike (& Nilla) were so excited- shrieking and screaming. I think it is clear that Ike has a love for fishing just like his Daddy. I wish I had my big camera but these cell phone shots will have to do....

4th of July Party

Friday night was the annual 4th of July BBQ, bonfire & fireworks. After a quick downpour, the evening was perfect! The weather finally cleared here and I am happy to say 'Summer is Here'! We had a great weekend with family & friends and took full advantage of the nice weather with lots of boating, sun & fun.
