We had a great day at the beach today with Pepe, Jimmie & all the Teagues - enjoying the simply beautiful weather of Charleston, SC! The warm sun, warm waves and warm sand felt great.... do you get that it is warm (not hot)?! Happiness is vacation.... Harcourt was sailing the Sonar ACC's this weekend (3rd place with 1 pt between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd) and he will arrive on Wednesday. 
What is better than coming home from school on a warm early Summer day, changing into your bathing suit and hanging out in your favorite backyard? Probably not much better than that :-) Ike loves the Backyardigans- a cute little cartoon where these little creatures hang out and play in their backyard- I am pretty sure he thinks he is a Backyardigan! 
Last year we went to the Leila Day Fair and had a good time so we went with Paige, Amy & Luke on Saturday morning while Harcourt was sailing in a Sonar regatta. The main reason Ike went was for the pony ride and it was worth the wait! Paige had a butterfly painted on her face and Ike tried his hand at being a firefighter (though he was totally petrified by the actual firefighter but he liked his truck).
I have lots of great sandbox memories from when I was a kid- Dean and I spent countless afternoons digging and building in the sandbox my Dad made for us. It is a known fact that Ike will spend much of his time on the school playground in the sandbox so we decided it was time to have one at home. Ike and I ventured to Toys R Us on Sunday and came home with a new sandbox, 250 lbs of sand and a remote controlled digger (which unfortunately wasn't really meant for real sand)! 
Tonight for a treat we took Ike to the yacht club for a ride in his favorite "red boat" (13' inflatable). The moorings are up but a total of 2 boats in the harbor so makes for very fun red boat riding! (courtesy of my new, very cool mini HD video camera for Mother's Day)
It was a beautiful day so we went down to Bing & Kyle's to have lunch and work on planting a tree behind the barn. It is funny because in general Ike doesn't like to be dirty or even to have sticky hands from food etc but he loves to get his hands in some nice DIRT!!
