Keeping Busy
It is certainly different coming home with a second baby and feeling much more confident and prepared. Also, the warmth of the summer season is WAY better than the frigid air of December when I had Ike. I have really enjoyed being able to get out of the house a bit already and this weekend we had lunch dates at the yacht club and Ike enjoyed some fishing with Daddy. I am very thankful that Ike and his Daddy are best of buds and are very used to hanging out and doing "their thing" without Mommy.

Ike (pause and then concern): But Mommy I thought we were going to keep him?!
At 3 3/4 he seems so big to us now!

Homeward Bound
On Friday morning, we checked out of Yale and happily headed home with our little Legare. Ike & Hannah had some sweet surprises in store for us and the Ike's anticipation level of our arrival was high! Ike is definitely having to learn how to be gentle with Legare but he has only the best of intentions.

Daddy made good friends with the valet guys after my total of 9 days in the hospital over the last 3 weeks.

Legare Sawyer Schutz

8lbs 8.5ozs, 21.25 inches
& nearly 2 weeks early!
Due to my gestational diabetes with this pregnancy it was decided the baby needed to be delivered on Tuesday.
After pulling an all nighter, "it's a boy" was announced at 6:19am today!
Julie is a great friend and an amazing doctor!

My bags are packed and we are now just playing the waiting game. Ike is convinced he is having a sister - he has been sticking to that since the day we told him he was going to be a big brother. We are constantly reminding him that it could be a boy but he seems to look at us like we are crazy. We are feeling prepared and ready for the newest Schutz to arrive and join in the fun.
Summer so far in a nutshell...
I have been remiss with my blogging these days but we still have been having a great Summer! We have been VERY busy this Summer... making the most of being very pregnant in the heat, enjoying our last days as a family of 3, surviving several July heat waves, shooting a wedding 4th of July weekend, moving out for a week to have our upstairs floors refinished, setting up Ike's new room, recreating the nursery, Ike perfecting riding his bike on 2 wheels, swimming lessons, loving having Hannah here to enjoy the days with Ike, Mommy spending 4 days in the hospital with the stomach bug, logging endless hours at the yacht club with friends on the weekends and making banditos in the garage with Daddy!
