Dreaming of ISO and aperture...

Sunday, November 27, 2011

I am always learning more about photography and the challenge of getting the images I want out of my camera and lens is what keeps me going, dreaming of ISO and aperture (literally!).  Last Wednesday, I took a live webinar with a photographer I follow online who happens to live in Minnesota.  It was awesome and she has agreed to be my "mentor" and I will be doing one-on-one sessions with her online in the near future.  Yesterday, I took my camera out to practice with 2 of my favorite subjects... Legare and Bean.

he was so cute with the soccer ball and it makes him look so tiny :)
but, when given the option he would rather follow Bean...
he loves, loves, loves her and if she would cooperate he would rest his head on her all day long....

Family Photos

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

We had our own family photos done last weekend by a photographer that I found online and loved her work.  She works out of Mystic so we went to Harkness Park for our session.  It was so interesting to be on the other side of the camera and watch someone do what I do.  Ike was a bit of a pill we still managed to get some good shots with a little bribery :)  Below are the 3 that we have seen so far...

Family Photos (at last!)

Monday, June 14, 2010

During our trip to Charleston, I hired my friend Blakely from college at Crescent Moon Photography take our family photos and she did a great job!!! Blakely and I lived together in the Tri-Delta house for 2 years and funny how we both ended up with the photography bug. We also did the whole Sawyer family and I know those will be great too and I enjoyed being on the other side of the camera :) Here are a few sneak peeks.

Labor Day

Tuesday, September 08, 2009

Labor Day this year was a fun filled finale to the yacht club season -- including but not limited to: a morning at the airport with Harcourt, lunch & swim off the boat, Ike's first pre-race sail, race spectating, ice cream & treats at the club, swimming off the dock, playing in the outside shower at the club with lots of friends and cheering at the yacht club Labor Day awards. And that concludes Ike's 3rd yacht club season and now we are preparing for Dana's wedding on 9/19!

the kid loves to swim!
Ike joined Harcourt, Peter Ginz & Wilber for a little sail out to the race course.
fun in the outside shower at the club with Hayden & friends

how many kids can fit in the club's outside shower??
Ike was very focused at the awards ceremony
and at the end he asked when does he get his prize :-)

Party of the Summer

Tuesday, August 04, 2009

Saturday night was hands down the party of the Summer. Our friends Rob & Tricia have the most beautiful home overlooking the Thimble Islands and they love to wine and dine. They are able to pull off an elegant dinner on the lawn for 50 without even a glimmer of stress- it is something to see! The evening was amazing with perfect weather included shimmering moonlight on the water. I enjoyed testing some rented camera equipment- practice for the 2 weddings I am shooting in September. Fisheye Fun

Saturday, August 01, 2009

I am testing out a fisheye lens and it seems to be a must have after just the first night! Thursday night we headed down to enjoy a summer evening on the water. Check out the cool shots!

We stumbled into James, Julie and their neighbors including Colleen visiting from Australia!
