Dana & Tom's Engagement Party

Thursday, April 30, 2009

As Bingy would say "the marathon begins!"  Weekend before last, we kicked off Dana & Tom's wedding festivities with a beautiful Engagement Party at Susie & Binks house.   The weather was perfect and nice enough to enjoy the terrace.  It was great to see good friends and family gathered in Dana & Tom's honor and we are on the countdown to 9/19/09!

Bing did a very nice toast... and didn't even cry!
I think Dana was complimenting Bing on his tear free toast in this shot :-)
A toast to the hostess, Susie!
The next morning we went to Susie's to open gifts and Ike thought it was great.  He and Tom worked very well together and when we asked "Ike- what is in this one?"  he would reply everytime with "maybe a backhoe!"  No backhoes only beautiful gifts for T&D.

Spring BBQ

2 weekends ago we kicked off Spring with a little BBQ on Podunk- the kids had a blast on the ride on toys. Henry kindly brought over his Gator and it was a huge hit as you can see. We are looking forward to a great Spring/Summer with all these kids getting older and playing together.

Ike and Hayden take their turn while Molly is in the back- Ike is quite good at his driving skills and even impressed everyone with a nice pass through the patio on the Gator.
Anna takes the wheel while Molly holds on for dear life and Kendall says "wait for me!"

Baby, baby...

Just wanted to share a little 90 second video of shots from a shoot last weekend of a sweet 4 wk old baby girl. I am really enjoying my photography side business and getting to meet new people. My confidence level is increasing with each shoot and I am very excited about 2 weddings that I am shooting in September! I am also updating my website & photography blog with new photos from every shoot to keep it fresh so check it out.

Just another Saturday

On any given Saturday you can find Harcourt, Bing, Ike and Robert working away on some project involving stones, tree cutting, and of course, backhoes, tractors of all sizes and the Polaris. BOYS WILL BE BOYS and Ike will hang out with Harcourt all day without a complaint. He also enjoys a popsicle & juicebox from Kyle!

The latest project has been building some stone stairs down to the trolley bed behind the barn
Ike oversees the work while sitting on "the green one"
Watch out!  He has the key...
...and he knows where it goes!

Funny Videos

Ike likes to chat with himself and the toys in his bed while he falls asleep... so cute!

Easter

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

We cannot get over how much fun Ike is these days... age 2 comes with plenty of challenges but overall he has a great personality and the things he says are priceless. Easter weekend was very fun! Good Friday was the nicest weather of the weekend and we spent the morning at the airport, see Harcourt's post. Saturday was rainy and cold but we did lots of crafts including... Easter eggs of course! From the evidence below, you can see that Ike enjoyed it and given a choice of colors, he always leans to BLUE! It had been many years since I dyed Easter eggs and I forgot how permanent the dye was so when Ike wanted to use his hands I said 'sure', oops!

On Sunday morning, Ike was a little nervous about hunting for his basket in the house- "no Easter bunny" and he wouldn't come down the stairs! Harcourt had to pull out the basket and Ike's eyes lit up and a big smile came across his face. We went to Kyle & Boppy's for a little egg hunt and it was freezing cold but with a little assistance from Robert, Boppy and Daddy- all the eggs were collected (I forgot my camera!). Easter lunch was at Peter & CB's house with a good Schutz/Johnson/Fisher/Kornacki showing. Phew! It was a long weekend but a great one :-)

the Easter Bunny may have gone a bit overboard but it was fun :-)

Rain Boots

What does...?

Rain boots on the wrong feet (3 sizes too big*)

John Deere 'trator'= HAPPY BOY!

*I bought them on sale to be packed away until he found them first.

Handy Manny

Weekend before last was rainy and cold.... Daddy was at a boat show so Ike and I were looking for some new entertainment.... we went to Walmart and came home with Handy Manny and The Tools what fun!  We walked in the door and Ike immediately went into the downstairs bath aka construction zone and put Manny and his Tools to work.   That night, he tucked Manny, Philippe and Turner in bed - right next to Ike's pillow and I overheard him singing Twinkle Twinkle to them :-)

Sweet Grandfather passed away this past Sunday just a few days shy of his 91st birthday. He had an amazingly wonderful life and we will miss him so much! I am headed to be with Grandmother and all the family this weekend in Lawrenceburg, TN. We love you Grandfather, always and forever!
Back home on Podunk, Ike and Harcourt are going to celebrating Harcourt's birthday (Sat) and Ike has his first swim lessons at the Y on Saturday morning.

High Heels!

Ella Grey is on the road to recovery with her high heels on! We are still thinking of EG, Bryan & Ashleigh as they await a definitive diagnosis on her brain mass that was removed. In the meantime, she is a real trooper and certainly hasn’t lost her precocious spirit.
