Ike and I had a great time in Charleston visiting with friends and family. The weather was nice enough to expose Ike's yankee white skin to the warm sun of the South. We had nice visits with my family, Hunter & the McEaddy's and Colleen Thompson but we missed seeing Susanne! The Mountain Buggy (stroller) clocked some serious miles around town.
Harcourt and Peter Ginz arrived for Charleston Race Week for the weekend and Dad enjoyed being the boat taxi to the marina. The boys sailed on the J105/Savasna and won their class! More to come from Harcourt on that... The Southern Hospitality at the regatta festivities did not disappoint and we got to see lots of old friends from Harcourt's college sailing days. We will definitely make it an annual event!
All was well until the "50 year storm" hit us on Sunday and we followed it for 15+ hours on drive back to Connecticut! Thanks to modern techonology - Peter Ginz had his laptop with roaming internet connection so we were monitoring all radars and traffic reports- we even saw ourselves on a traffic cam online- not many people can say that! We even got to talk on the webcam while in the car!
